Big Brother spies on Coach

The federal government has crossed a line, and it makes Watergate look like a parking ticket.

Special counsel Jack Smith’s probe on Jan. 6 wiretapped eight U.S. Senators, including Alabama’s own Tommy Tuberville. This isn’t just a scandal; it’s a direct attack on our constitutional system, demanding a fierce response from every patriot who values freedom.

The facts are staggering: In 2023, Smith’s team zeroed in on U.S. Sens. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Bill Hagerty (R-Tenn.), Josh Hawley (R-Mo.), Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska), Cynthia Lummis (R-Wyo.) and Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn).

Tuberville, Alabama’s champion for military strength, unborn life, and secure borders, had his calls tracked by Biden’s Justice Department. Biden’s goons scooped up metadata … hoping to find what, exactly? Evidence showing that Coach and his MAGA peers had hoped to expose the fraud behind the 2020 election and that they thought the process was rigged? Evidence showing that they sympathized with President Trump and his supporters? Where’s the crime by these duly elected senators?

Unlike Watergate, Smith’s dragnet was backed by the FBI and DOJ, making it institutional abuse on steroids. It’s a sinister case of the nation’s executive branch infringing on the independence of the legislative branch.

But it gets worse. The “two-hop” rule under FISA Section 702 means Smith’s probe didn’t stop with the senators. It swept up their contacts – and their contacts’ contacts. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, got caught in this net: staffers, families, journalists, and regular Alabamians calling Tuberville about VA benefits or farm policies.

My own cell phone was likely swept up by the Feds.

As Tuberville’s national security advisor from 2021 to 2023, I advised Coach on defense and intelligence issues. We talked, almost daily, about how to thwart the Biden administration’s idiocy. From the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan to Biden’s unconstitutional ploy to fund unlimited abortion-on-demand, Coach and I had plenty of dumb to fight.

Alabama’s senior senator undoubtedly ranked high on Biden’s enemy list: there was no stronger voice against Biden than Tuberville in the U.S. Senate.

I served Alabama to strengthen our nation, not to have my privacy gutted by bureaucrats who think they’re above the law. This isn’t just personal; it’s a betrayal of every citizen who trusts their government to respect their rights.

This abuse sets fire to the Constitution. The Fourth Amendment guarantees our right to be secure from “unreasonable searches and seizures.” Smith’s team ignored that, using FISA’s unchecked two-hop rule to rummage through private lives without a judge’s approval. The framers built our system to stop exactly this kind of tyranny.

In the past five years, I’ve served in Trump’s White House, the Pentagon, and Tuberville’s office. I’ve also served our nation for 26 years in the U.S. Navy. I know how D.C. twists power against the people, having experienced it myself. Yet I refuse to bow to federal overreach. From Mobile to Huntsville, our voices deserve to be heard, not monitored. Our republic demands nothing less.
